Day 24 - England is calling.
I have to say, this was well chosen. We had breakfast at a Restaurant on the beach and it was first class. (anyone back home who knows how particular I am on where I dine knows this is a compliment indeed!).
Sorry couldn't resist another picture of Ayers Rock from a lesser seen angle
We had a walk on the beach, I won't bother telling you about the lady we met, I think that will be one of Chalk's stories with the lads after a pint! Chalk had a swim in the sea, I sat and took in the scenery for the last time for a while. The sky actually started looking a little cloudy and the forecast for the next few days is NOT GOOD! I think I may be leaving at the right time.
Chalk & Bek at the top of 'Ayers Rock'
This holiday has been fantastic, Chalk and Bek have been unbelievable in the planning, the itinery, so much thought in everything we have done. Bek especially, a really big thank you for accepting your ''lodger'' with such grace. It has been a pleasure staying with you both in your lovely home and thank you Bek for giving up your transport so we could get round Sydney and take in so many sights.

A last thank you to David and Margie for our outing to the Opera House, Ben and Kylie for letting me share in your Wedding day, Travis, well it is always a pleasure to see your smiling face, and ALL your lovely friends I had the pleasure of spending some time with. It seems such a long time since the Zoo with Adele and and Ainsley and the walk with Karen and Marilyn. (Thank you for my birthday cards and thank you Karen for the chocolate koala's, - you will of course take a portion of the blame for my weight increase!) It was lovely to meet Mick and Michelle (Luton shirt aside) Cammy, (and Frankie of course) and Sarah and James.
Also of course Robyn and Nick for letting me have some time with their beautiful baby Amy. The lovely lunch at the Eden Garden Centre with Anne, so many wonderful times to remember
how strange so many of them include food!
Chalk and I at Uluru after our first flight together
I will be flying home soon but I am sure to return to meet up with you all again before not too long. Hope your chess improves Gareth, I won't forget the chocolates at Christmas.
Time now for last shower in their beautiful bathroom.
Love to everyone, thank you for following the blog and your comments, on line and off.

well we're at the airport and what else would we be doing other than logging on to an internet kiosk to check the blog...we've created an addict! And she's picked up a slight addiction to Australia which can only be a good thing!!!!

Don't know what I'm going to do in the mornings now, my first job this last three weeks has been to look at the blog. It's been a great experience for Joan, and also for all of us following her travels. Really enjoyed it. Well done Bek and Chalk you've worked really hard. Love to all X Sandra and Bryan

Ma,
It’s difficult to put your trip into words without getting over emotional but it was truly fantastic to have you here and be able to play host and tour guide. I’ve had a great 3 ½ weeks and enjoyed every day but I have to say the days I enjoyed the best were the ones where we just chilled, went for lunch, talked and had a good laugh. It is nice however to get my own sofa back!! And this time on the laptop is a rare event. You’ll have to bring your own next time!!
It was great to see you see the side of Sydney that I love, and appreciate why I made the decision to live here, it was equally good to see you almost wet yourself laughing on the sofa, usually at Bek’s antics getting in on other peoples pictures but also your attempt to finally sing the Pet Shop Boys ‘West End Girls’ was something to savour. I don’t think it would have sold quite so well if the lyrics really were “Sometimes you’re better off dead, there’s a hmmph in your hand and a hmmph in your head’.
I feel positive that instead of dwelling on how far away we are here, we can both just concentrate on having happy lives and enjoy the contact that we have whether it be on the phone, internet or in person.
Looking forward to hearing about what you’re up to back in Brockholes (or do you live back in Garforth now??) Give my Niece a big hug and a kiss, go on then, one for my Sister as well.
Lots of love
Graham

p.s. Nellie and Little Nell are missing you!!!!

Thank you Chalk for your lovely comments, I know just because people are related doesn't automatically mean they are close
We have always had a really good close relationship and as you and Lesley have grown up into quite special people it is as much as a parent can hope for to maintain this through the years. As you always speak your mind, and don't always 'wrap up' your comments
it is really lovely to know that you both enjoyed having me with you for so long. I am rather surprised you didn't check my case for the
Laptop! I will miss our chats and WALKS . I know we will be chatting all the time on the phone but it is much nicer to do it face to face. Anyway enjoy the peace before your next guest and tell them to keep my room tidy, i will next time, I will definately bring LESS clothes!
Love to you both. Nellie and litttle Nel.
