Day 7 - Blue Mountains.
Actually our ''early start'' nearly happened, just over one hour after estimated time, not bad when Chalk is involved. Unfortunately the weather was not fantastic but the positive people that we are we set off anyway (perhaps I was more positive than B and C as I was the only one without a hat). We had a lovely coffee break in the Paragon cafe in Katoomba then went on to the Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters. The weather was quite dismal with not much view, this actually was a blessing or believe me I would NOT have been on the train down the Mountains, when it started Bek informed me it was the steepest funicular railway in the world! Her timing was amazing! Unfortunately I remembered too late Lesley telling me of her terror on this wonder transport. I could be reviewing my thoughts on Bek ever becoming my Daughter in Law!
Limbering up for the walk...look familiar Andy - we're at St Martin's Lookout where you were running with Chalky in 2000

We still managed to enjoy the day walking thro' the Mountains seeing all the nature and even caught sight of a Lyrebird. Even so, I was cold, wet and Graham's comment was, just think how great it is to feel fit!

Fortunately we took the cable back up the Mountain and not the train. Bek made us laugh when the guide in the Cable car was trying to inform us of interesting facts but could not be heard for
a party of rather rude chinese still talking amongst themselves.....until Bek clapped her hands and told them to shutup! WHAT A GIRL.
Back to base, lazy evening, meal and few 'phone calls to family, Gareth came round for a game of Chess with Chalk and thank goodness Chalk won to save us getting bored with all his excuses. So all is well and it is now getting late and I am the only one not working tomorrow, oh dear..
Night all. Jx

Hi
Looks like you're having a great time, get a sense of deja vu looking at some of the pictures! I told you mum that train ride was hellish, pity the weather wasn't clearer as the sights are spectacular.
It's great living your adventure day by day so keep the posts coming.
