Day 12 - Ben and Kylie’s Wedding

All Dressed Up
This is my first experience of an Aussie wedding, and a garden one at that. I think this also could be a first for a bride and groom, inviting a guest they had never met!
Saying Vows

I have to say the sunshine would have been a welcome guest, but unfortunately the weather is pot luck. However all the wedding party assembled, everyone in best” bib and tucker’’. Ben looked very ‘cool’ for a bridegroom and Kylie looked really lovely.
Bek did a reading before the service commenced and for the first time nearly ‘ lost it’ when
she was trying really hard not took at David, but managed her usual professional finish.

The reception is quite different to an English one, I really enjoyed it and was surprised each course had two different choices, as I had chicken for my main course, I was very happy. Drinks were supplied to each table and did so throughout the evening, apparently the drinks bill was down to the Bridegrooms parents, all of a sudden I am no hurry for my son to get married. Travis’s dancing was very entertaining, pity it wasn’t on the dance floor, fortunately Dan is a very calming influence.

Dan, Trav & Bek

The reception finished at 10pm and I thought this was a really good idea, weddings are a long day and I was not the only person ready for home. Bek may be now getting worried I am referring to my address of nearly 10 days as home.

Time for bed, another big day tomorrow, barbie to meet some of Chalk and Bek’s friends.

Footnote: Nellie was dressed up already for her big day out, as she was left home all alone, she is now applying to the Bear Rescue Society. She was found on her way down the hall clutching her passport.
